Rodney Holder Memorial Scholarship
Rodney Holder was born April 18, 1960, (Auburn, Alabama,) and moved to Abilene at age 3. Rodney lived a life of service. He was a 28-year police veteran, having graduated from Police Academy in 1982 and was named one of two officers in the motorcycle patrol division in 2005. He was serving his community on April 29, 2010 when he died after a car collided with his patrol motorcycle. Cherished memories remain in the hearts of his family, wife Annemarie, son Kyler, daughter Hilary Erfurt and twin granddaughters, Reese and Rylee. Having lived in Abilene for many years and graduating from Cooper High School, Rodney’s countless friends will remember him fondly. At his service, Dr. Phil Christopher, pastor of Abilene’s First Baptist Church, said, “Rodney reminds us that there are heroes in this world and in this community.” Rodney Holder will always be remembered for his legacy of service.
